Veteran writer and previously featured Writer Wednesday author Elaine Isaak is running a kickstarter to fund her latest project, An Author’s Grimoire: a manual for fantasy writers.
Nebula nominee, Ferrett Steinmetz, has an interesting post where he analyzes his Nebula-nominated story, showing the first draft, the review comments, and the final product.
Maggie Stiefvater recently did a dissection of an original draft chapter and then showed how it morphed and highlighted certain areas and discussed what she was trying to accomplish. It was quite interesting, AND she convinced 10 other writers to do the same!
Someone I’ve come across recently with an intriguing blog is Rachel Aaron.
Her blog is articulate, reasoned, and analytical (I love thoughtful analysis!). It’s very interesting (especially if you are a writer…).
One post in particular (although, they are all great) that I’ve been thinking about lately, is: http://thisblogisaploy.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-i-went-from-writing-2000-words-day.html (she also wrote this up for Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America). Very incredible stats, very astute reasoning, very nice analytical approach, and very smart woman!
